Sometime shortly after graduate school I found myself questioning the vocation I had been in most of my adult life. There I sat with multiple degrees, enrolled in doctoral studies, & wondering what in the world I was doing. My desire to be creative was too strong to ignore. This insatiable desire led me to photography & design.

I now travel all over the world photographing weddings, landscapes, & families. I've found much of life is about perspective... this blog is my opportunity to share my perspective.

The Wears | Abbi & Lilli

As I sat here editing these photos from this morning’s session with Abbi & Lilli Wear, I caught myself grinning from ear to ear. I couldn’t help it. I’ve photographed for the Wears a few times now (here’s some pics from those sessions: Part 1 & Part 2) & always enjoy our time together. Like others, the session resulted in me rolling around on the ground for the “right” shot & Abbi found it the perfect occasion to twirl & dance. I love it when children are so uninhibited; I could learn a great deal from them!

Due to the snowy forecast & my refusal to reschedule another photo session, we photographed these beautiful little girls at my studio. We simply opened the blinds & started shooting! Kelli, Abbi & Lilli’s mom, is such a pleasure to work with & simply let’s me be creative as I see fit. Thanks again Randy, Kelli, Abbi, & Lilli!

Kelli Wear - Oh my gosh Ben, these are so beautiful!!!!!! You really have an eye for capturing the perfect shots. I was afraid my girls didn’t give you enough to work with put I was so wrong. I think they could have just sat there and frowned and you would have made it art. I am so glad we were able to do this again and I can’t wait to see the rest of them. It feels like Christmas morning and you just gave me one of the greatest gifts ever! Thank you and I will patiently await the rest…….perfection cannot be rushed! Thanks again!

Amy McDonald - These are so good! I love them. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite because there are so many that represent their fun personalities!!!! Great job!
