I go way back with the Waycasters!!
It was in 7th grade when Matt & I became friends at the Athens Junior High School. We came from differing schools; he was from the nether-region of Etowah (as I call it) & I was from the Friendly city of Athens. He was tall, I was un-tall. He could practically dunk the basketball, I could kick the ball into the basket better than I could shoot it. I guess the thing that made us friends was sports. His arena was basketball, mine was soccer. Then, when we were in high school we also played football & made legends of ourselves (Ha!). We hung out practically non-stop until we went our separate ways for college.
Matt & Cortney met in high-school. And, yep, I was with them on their first date. I know what you’re thinking… third wheel… but I had a date too. I was there when it all began. We all knew Cortney was way out of Matt’s league but somehow he kept her laughing too much for her to get away. When Matt & Cortney decided to get married several years later while she was in optometry school, they asked me to perform their wedding. I said yes. Then, I did pre-marital counseling with them (I was an expert having been married about 1.5 years) & performed their wedding ceremony; I was crazy-nervous. But, it was legal & for that I am thankful (& somewhat surprised!).
Matt & Cortney returned to East TN after Cortney finished optometry school (should I say, “Dr. Cortney Waycaster”). Shortly after, they were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Maddie, 16 months old. Now, they are again pregnant with a boy who will be named Luke.
I was able to meet up with the Waycasters on Sunday evening & squeeze in a mini-session. It was way too cold outside to spend too much time but we tried to take advantage of every minute. We had a great time & Cortney later Facebooked me saying that she thinks that I bring out the “craziness” in her husband. She’s absolutely right! We tend to lose all sense of reason when we hang out. Good times!
Maddie is so cute; I love those glasses!
Matt up to his usual foolery!
The Waycasters stopped by the studio a few weeks back for Christmas on the Square & Cortney immediately had praises about my green chair that I’ve affectionately termed “the World’s Coolest Chair.” We knew we had to get some pics of Maddie in the chair. (Click here to read about my adventure in purchasing the chair).
We had to stop inside the studio for a few minutes to thaw out… why not get a few pics inside?
This is probably my favorite pic from the session.
If you would like to view all the pics from this session, please sign the guestbook. When the images are ready for viewing you will receive an email linking you to the album. Thanks!
