It shaped up to be a frigid morning but the Kessler crew was quite eager & ready for their photo shoot. And so was I! They made a chilly morning look good!!! I really can’t explain how much I enjoy getting outside with a family, letting them interact with one another & shooting away. Sometimes I am so enamored by their interaction that I lose total track of time & location. Then I pull myself together, suggest a pose here or there, but mostly just let them go for it… I find I am able really capture peoples’ emotions & natural movements this way. And this is what my clients love.
I met Mindy Kessler through “Trinity Tots” where our son Brennan goes once a week for ‘school.’ Mindy is a teacher at Trinity UMC & has been following my work through some of our mutual friends & families that I have photographed. We’ve been talking about setting up a session & were able to this past Friday. When they arrived at the studio I immediately recognized her husband, Michael. I knew I remembered him from school & found out that he graduated a year after me from the same high school. Plus, Mindy informed me that she is the sister of one of my friends, Jamie Davis (I had no idea!). Michael & Mindy both went to Tennessee Tech University & now Michael works as an Engineer (yeah… he’s one of those smart guys!). They were a blast to get to know & their son Nathan was one of the easiest kids to photograph ever. He said “cheese” throughout the entire session… it was hilarious.
This is one of the first pics I took & Nathan immediately turned around, made eye contact & said, “cheese!” Love it!
You can totally see everyone’s personality come across in this pic!
