Ayden Tate Packett | 4.5 mos.

It is so much fun to photograph for friends. This is Ayden Tayte Packett, son of Scott & Allyssa Packett. Scott has become one of my closest friends. I’ve been able to witness an unbelievable amount of transformation occur in his life. We give credit to the Lord for His grace. He serves as pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church & is the Executive Director of Contact Helpline, Inc.

I was able to capture Scott & Allyssa during a maternity session in July & then showed up at the hospital in August a few short days after this little guy was born. I was privileged to have them stop by the studio a few days ago for a session. Just look at how he has grown.

This pretty much speaks for itself. Ayden Packett is rockin’ the blog in his vintage golf hat. I love it… he looks like a little old man.

I was so inspired by his outfit that I decided to put him inside a old vintage suitcase I had lying around the studio. He pretty much made himself at home in it.

For some reason Ayden starting doing some sort of funny thing with his lips. I’m not sure exactly what he was up to but I thought it would look cute in the pics.

Scott Packett - Wow!! Ben you do such a terrific job. We had a great time, as usual with you, even though Ayden wasn’t in his best of moods…but you couldn’t tell that by looking at these pics. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful wife and handsome son! Thanks Ben.

Kay Simmons - Wow! Ayden looks like a china doll in the first pics with his hat on. Really, really precious. I’m sure Scott and Alyssa are lovin’ these! Great job!

Capri Violet Grace Nation | Newborn Session

Be very quiet… baby is sleeping; you must whisper!

Everyone, I’d like to introduce to you Capri Violet Grace Nation. Capri was welcomed into the world by her parents, Don & Alison Nation, on November 30th. She weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz. Don & Alison are some of my favorite people & you may recall the maternity shoot I did with Alison in late October. Well, this is the wonderful gift the Nation family has been given.

This is probably my favorite image from the session.

I shot this one with my lens pointed through the railing in the crib; it created a nice vignette.

Amy McDonald - These are incredible!!! My favorite is the one with her in the crib and all the stuffed animals around her. I love it!

December 17, 2009 - 4:49 pm

Alison Nation - Ben, these are beautiful!!! I’ll have to have Don take look at them too so then we can decided which one we want for the family! Thank you so much for doing these for us. They turned out great, and I couldn’t be more happier with them or with the photographer! :)

Bailey Moore | Debut Shoot

Bailey Moore decided to bring her mom by the studio on Sunday evening for a shoot. Being that she is almost a year old, she figured it was as good a time as ever for her debut photo shoot. I was happy to accommodate.

I went to school with Bailey’s mom, Juliet (she was one of the smart ones who paid attention & studied… one of our valedictorians!!). When we moved back to Athens I ran into Juliet on occasions & we decided to get a photo shoot scheduled before the holidays. We originally planned to have their Golden Retrievers in the pics but the rainy weather kept the dogs at home instead. Maybe next time! Anyways, we had a great time & Bailey did an incredible job!

Check out those kicks!

Juliet Moore - Ben you’re amazing! You’ll never know how much these pictures mean to me… I wish I would have been able to have pictures of her taken before now, but sometimes you have to make the most out of what you have. Bailey has given me lots of love and laughs. She’s hilarious and alrady incredibly smart. I only have one question though.. When you were editing those photos why didn’t you get rid of my wrinkles?? I have some really bad crows feet. lol

The Irons Girls | Molly & McKenzie

Sssshhhh… this blog post is a secret until Christmas. If you know either of the subjects you must swear to secrecy until after December 25. If you are the type that can’t keep a secret, I cannot have you read any further in this post… sorry, it’s just how I roll!!! Alright… if you promise, you may proceed!

These are the Iron girls: Molly & McKenzie. Molly is a senior at McMinn County High School & McKenzie a freshman. They were a ton of fun to hang out with last Friday afternoon. As a gift to their mother for Christmas, their dad, Gary, lined up a photo shoot & has some great gift ideas in mind. They were both reluctant about being photographed but as I gave them a hard time, they retaliated, resulting in some good laughs. Seriously, do they have any reason not to enjoy being photographed? They look great!

Here’s McKenzie! As of right now she isn’t the biggest fan of school; I think she would rather spend her time in the pool (she’s a swimmer!).

Melodye Irons - Yes I did cry, more than once. The pictures were awesome. I will be down to visit Mr. Finch next week to look at them all. Thanks Ben for the best Christmas Present. You and the girls made my Christmas. Melodye

December 21, 2009 - 2:38 pm

Tammy Gentry - I was checking out the new photos when I ran across this session. I wish I could be “a fly on the wall” when Melodye sees these. Talk about an emotional momma! Ben, you done a fabulous job capturing their personalities. I love the ones of them laughing!

December 16, 2009 - 8:49 am

Ric Wilson - Melodye is going to love this! Great idea, Gary and great photos, Ben. I can’t help but laugh when I look at the girls laughing. Melodye will be both laughing and crying!

December 16, 2009 - 5:48 am

Dad (Gary Irons) - I never thought he would get them to relax but it didn’t take long. I agree with him they are two beautiful girls.

McDonald Family Christmas Card

A little over a week ago I posted the Christmas card design I did for Brandon, Ashley, & Madison McDonald. This is a different McDonald family; same last name, different people. This card is a bit special to me… it is for my sister’s family. I finished up this card today for Travis, Amy, Hunter, & Chase McDonald (& Rosco too!). Here you go… what do you think?

December 14, 2009 - 10:15 pm

Donna - These look great…they are too sweet (yes, the dog too)

December 14, 2009 - 9:48 pm

Juliet Moore - They’re so cute! I can tell they are related to you. There’s certainly a resemblance. We should have done something like that so I could have included Duke and Dixie on a card since it was too wet to bring them in to the studio… They sure would have skated across your floor if I had of (hehe).

December 14, 2009 - 8:43 pm

Amy McDonald - I love it!!!! Can’t wait to get them! Thanks again for another great job!
